NVMe VPS for the UK

Your own server in Europe,
with London latency.

Four NVMe VPS tiers built for UK teams that already know how to ship with Docker, stand up PostgreSQL, run Kubernetes on a single node and size for Black Friday week. Guaranteed resources — dedicated vCPU, no overselling — billed in pounds sterling with VAT 20 % broken out on every invoice.

Infrastructure runs in European Tier III datacenters (Frankfurt and Bucharest) with LINX peering and direct routes to UK transit. For UK visitors that means sub-8 ms first-byte from BT, Virgin Media and Sky, and sub-3 ms when content is served from the integrated Cloudflare CDN. No surprise egress fees, no support tickets answered in another language at 11 PM London time, no minimum-term obligations.

Four plans

From the side project to the production database

Four tiers named after UK rivers and a real scenario behind each one. Move up or down between them when your workload changes; cold resize takes 90 seconds, hot RAM resize does not require a reboot.

Docker and Kubernetes ready in five minutes

Containers without fighting the kernel or sysctl. All official images start cleanly and the host is tuned for production.

Every VPS ships with Docker and containerd pre-installed, cgroups v2 active and the bridge-nf-call-iptables module configured so Kubernetes ingresses, services and network policies work without surprises. If you are going with k3s, the full control plane fits comfortably in the Severn tier; for multi-node clusters in real production we recommend Tyne or moving up to a cluster of two VPS communicating over private networking. Helm, kubectl, kustomize and skaffold are in the path from the first SSH session, and the panel lets you stand up private Harbor registries in a couple of clicks so you do not depend on Docker Hub when it has a bad day.

  • Docker Engine 26+ and containerd 1.7+ pre-installed
  • k3s on one node or multi-node cluster depending on tier
  • Private Harbor registry optional with SSO authentication
  • BuildKit enabled for parallel multi-stage builds
  • Compatible with docker-compose v2 and kompose for migration

Enterprise NVMe SSDs without hidden tiering

100 % NVMe in every tier. No "accelerated NVMe" levels with a small cache sitting on top of actual SATA drives.

Every VPS runs on Samsung PM9A3 or equivalent Micron, with DWPD ≥ 1 and endurance certified for five years of intensive use. The IOPS reported in the panel are real IOPS — not shared with "noisy neighbours" as is the case at providers who oversell. For write-heavy workloads (PostgreSQL OLTP, ClickHouse, log ingestion) the disks sustain more than 70,000 IOPS without throttling. The RAID 1 on the Clyde tier gives resilience to individual disk failure without losing write speed, because the duplication is done at hardware level (controller with battery-backed cache), not in software emulated by the host kernel.

  • Samsung PM9A3 / Micron 7400 PRO with DWPD ≥ 1
  • Dedicated IOPS — not shared with other tenants
  • Hardware RAID 1 on the Clyde tier
  • ZFS-based snapshots with LZ4 compression
  • Live IOPS, latency and throughput metrics in the panel
NVMe Samsung PM9A3 · DWPD ≥ 1 · 70K+ sustained IOPS · Zero overselling

Root access and full control of the server

Your server, your rules. SSH with key by default, sudo configured and the freedom to install whatever you need.

Real root from minute one, no panels hiding half the options behind paywall checkboxes. The admin user comes with sudo NOPASSWD pre-configured, the public SSH key is loaded from the panel at provisioning (compatible with any RSA, ECDSA or ED25519 key), and the SSH port can be moved from the panel without the risk of locking yourself out. For teams: integration with OPNsense + WireGuard to create a private VPN between your office and the VPS, SSH keys centrally managed via Tailscale, or 2FA via TOTP at the PAM level. Persistent iptables/nftables rules with netplan, ufw or firewalld depending on your distribution.

  • sudo NOPASSWD pre-configured for the admin user
  • Load SSH key from the panel at provisioning
  • Change SSH port and firewall rules from the panel
  • Compatible with Tailscale, WireGuard and OpenVPN
  • PAM with TOTP, fail2ban active by default
Custom SSH port · sudo NOPASSWD · Tailscale · WireGuard · fail2ban

Auto-scaling for Black Friday and Boxing Day

When traffic multiplies by five during peak UK retail weeks, the VPS goes up a tier without migration or planned downtime.

Loads in the UK are not linear. A typical retailer does in Black Friday week what they sell in a normal month. Boxing Day and January Sales spike e-commerce again. Wimbledon week melts streaming. Our panel lets you resize CPU and RAM cold (with a ~90-second reboot) or hot for RAM changes (no reboot, with NUMA migration). Disks expand online: you increase the volume from the panel and the partition grows without unmounting anything. For extreme peaks where bumping the VPS is not enough, we support horizontal auto-scaling with HAProxy or NGINX as load balancer pointing to two or more replicated VPS, all provisioned via API in under five minutes.

  • Resize CPU/RAM with 90-second reboot
  • Hot RAM resize without downtime (Tyne/Clyde tiers)
  • Disk expansion online without unmounting
  • Horizontal replicas with HAProxy or NGINX pre-configured
  • Cron and triggers based on CPU/RAM alerts for automatic scaling
Black Friday · Boxing Day · Wimbledon · Resize 90s · API < 5 min
Use cases

Four UK scenarios where a VPS solves better than a SaaS or a dedicated server

There are points where shared hosting falls short, and others where a dedicated server is overkill. The VPS is the sweet spot that gives real control without paying for hardware you are not using yet.

Case 01

B2B SaaS with UK, Ireland and continental EU clients

Invoicing, accounting or workflow platforms serving English-speaking SMEs. New sessions authenticate from the customer's browser, hit the VPS in Frankfurt or Bucharest, and the response returns via the nearest Anycast node. Sub-60 ms latency across the UK and Northern Europe from a single central instance.

Typical stack: PostgreSQL · Redis · Node.js or Python · NGINX
Case 02

E-commerce with Black Friday and Boxing Day peaks

A mid-sized retailer that sells all year but does 40 % of annual revenue in Black Friday and Boxing Day weeks. Tyne runs Magento or WooCommerce the rest of the year; during peak weeks we bump up to Clyde in 90 seconds without losing basket sessions or Stripe transactions.

Typical stack: WordPress + WooCommerce · MySQL · Redis · Varnish
Case 03

FCA-aware fintech with encrypted data

Startups that will sooner or later need to satisfy FCA requirements need at-rest encryption, immutable audit log and clear data residency. Our VPS can run LUKS over NVMe, keep keys in HashiCorp Vault, and export logs to S3 with object-lock to meet retention requirements.

Typical stack: PostgreSQL + pgAudit · LUKS + Vault · ClickHouse · OpenTelemetry
Case 04

AI pipeline for receipt and invoice classification

A data science team training models to extract data from scanned receipts and invoices (English documents from UK retailers). CPU for offline processing, fast NVMe for datasets, and the ability to connect to a neighbouring GPU server over private networking when training is required.

Typical stack: PyTorch · vLLM · Ollama · NVIDIA L4 (adjacent)
Frequently asked questions

What UK DevOps teams ask before migrating

Can I issue VAT invoices to UK clients from these plans?

Yes. We issue VAT invoices from our EU entity carrying our VAT number, your UK VAT number (when supplied), unique sequential numbering, date of supply, currency reference (GBP) and the VAT line broken out at the standard 20 % rate. B2B EU clients with valid VAT numbers can request reverse-charge treatment. Stripe Tax automation drops cleanly into Xero, FreeAgent or QuickBooks.

What happens if the VPS goes down at 3 AM London time?

We have a cross-timezone rota between Central Europe and the UK on-call. The VNC console, snapshots and reboot API are always available, and a senior engineer responds to P1 tickets in under 15 minutes 24/7. If the fault is on our side, the SLA applies and we issue credit calculated in GBP for the next billing cycle.

Do you support migration from Hetzner UK, OVH UK or Krystal?

Yes, at no extra cost. A senior engineer coordinates the DNS cutover with you (we lower TTLs first), transfers files, databases and configuration, runs smoke tests in a pre-production environment and only then moves traffic over. If something is not exactly as it was before, we roll back at no charge.

What is the real latency from London?

p50 from BT, Virgin Media and Sky networks in London: 6-8 ms to first byte. p95: 14 ms. With the integrated Cloudflare CDN (included at no cost) most static content is served from POPs in London with sub-3 ms latency.

Is there an annual payment discount?

Yes. Annual payment gets one month free (12 at the price of 11), 2-year payment gets 14 % discount. No minimum-term clause: if you decide to leave earlier, we refund the unused months pro-rated.

Are you UK GDPR compliant?

We follow UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 obligations as a processor under your contract. A DPA is available for signature at service activation, sub-processor list is maintained and versioned, infrastructure complies with European GDPR (which mirrors UK GDPR), and for clients requiring strict data residency we can replicate to an edge node in another EU datacenter on request.

Try without commitment

We provision your VPS in under five minutes.
If it does not work out, we refund what you paid.

VAT invoice issued at first payment. No minimum term: you can leave in the second month and we pro-rate the refund. If you want to try first, book a call and we will set up a test environment with a free VPS for seven days.
