Penetration Testing Services in the UK

CyberSecurity · United Kingdom

Penetration testing services in the UK from 4hosting cover web applications, APIs and infrastructure, run either as a one-off audit or on a rolling schedule between major releases. Every finding is validated by a human tester, scored with CVSS and EPSS, and comes with a fix owned by us where the issue sits on our infrastructure. Delivered using DevOps and CyberSecurity hours already included in your plan.

  • Web, API and infrastructure pentests, OWASP-mapped
  • Findings scored with CVSS and EPSS, not a raw scanner dump
  • Free retest once fixes are deployed
  • 1–8 h/month on VPS; 5–10 h/month on dedicated servers depending on the plan; 10 h/month on GPU servers

What we actually test

A pentest engagement scopes web applications against the OWASP Top 10, APIs against the OWASP API Top 10, and infrastructure for exposed services, misconfigured access and weak network segmentation. We enumerate authenticated and unauthenticated paths, chase business-logic flaws a scanner alone will not surface, and confirm exploitability before anything lands in the report — no theoretical findings padding the count.

  • Web application testing: authentication, session handling, injection, access control
  • API testing: broken object-level authorisation, mass assignment, rate-limit gaps
  • Infrastructure testing: exposed ports, credential reuse, lateral-movement paths

How AI is changing penetration testing

On the attacker side, LLM-driven agents now automate reconnaissance and fuzzing that used to take a human days, shrinking the window between a public disclosure and active exploitation to hours rather than weeks. On the defence side, we run continuous or short-cycle pentests rather than a single annual snapshot, so newly disclosed CVEs against your stack get validated against real exposure quickly, not at the next scheduled audit.

03

How findings are validated and reported

Every automated finding goes through a human review before it reaches the report. We score severity with CVSS for technical impact and EPSS for real-world exploitation likelihood, so you can triage by what is actually being exploited in the wild rather than a raw CVSS list. The report includes reproduction steps, affected assets and a remediation plan mapped to your architecture.

  • CVSS + EPSS scoring on every confirmed finding
  • Reproduction steps and evidence, not a scanner export
  • Remediation guidance specific to your stack

Where the included hours go

Pentest and remediation work draws on the CyberSecurity hours already in your plan: 1–8 hours a month on VPS, 5–10 on dedicated servers depending on the plan, 10 on GPU servers, from Advanced upward on cPanel. You request the engagement from the client panel, agree scope and a delivery date, and we run it. Hours do not roll over month to month; work beyond the monthly quota is accepted and billed separately, at no fixed hourly rate we can quote here.

How we work

  1. Request from the panel

Open a request under Services in the client panel, describe the target (web app, API, infrastructure) and the timeframe you need.

  2. Scope and schedule

We confirm in-scope assets, testing depth and a delivery date, and tell you how many included hours the engagement will use.

  3. Test and validate

We run the engagement, confirm exploitability by hand on every automated finding, and score each one with CVSS and EPSS.

  4. Report and retest

You receive a report with reproduction steps and fixes; once you deploy them, we retest at no extra cost and confirm closure.

Use cases

Fintech SaaS ahead of a client audit

A London fintech vendor needs an independent web and API pentest before a partner's security review; we deliver a report with CVSS/EPSS scoring the client's own security team can act on directly.

E-commerce platform after a major release

An online retailer runs a focused pentest on checkout and payment endpoints after a large feature release, catching an access-control regression before it reaches production traffic.

Public-sector supplier under NIS2

A software vendor serving public-sector clients moves from an annual pentest to a rolling schedule between releases, keeping evidence current for procurement questionnaires.

Technology stack

  • Burp Suite
  • OWASP ZAP
  • Nuclei
  • Nmap
  • Metasploit
  • CVSS
  • EPSS
  • OWASP Top 10
  • OWASP API Top 10

Every subscription includes monthly DevOps, CyberSecurity and Programming hours: 1 h from the cPanel Advanced plan up, 1–8 h on VPS, 5–10 h on dedicated servers depending on the plan, and 10 h on GPU servers. Hours are requested from your client panel, don't roll over to the next month, and anything above the quota is accepted and billed separately.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the difference between a vulnerability scan and a penetration test?

A scan runs automated tools and lists potential issues without confirming they are exploitable. A penetration test has a human tester validate each finding, chain weaknesses together where possible, and confirm real impact — so the report reflects actual risk, not a raw tool output.

  • How often should we run a penetration test?

A single annual test is the minimum for most SMEs; teams shipping frequently or subject to NIS2-linked obligations benefit from testing after major releases instead. We can run engagements on a rolling schedule within your included CyberSecurity hours rather than one fixed date a year.

  • Do you test infrastructure we don't host with 4hosting?

We test what sits on infrastructure we operate for you — web apps, APIs and the servers behind them. Testing third-party or on-premises systems outside our infrastructure is scoped separately and discussed case by case.

  • What does the report actually contain?

Each finding lists the affected asset, reproduction steps, CVSS and EPSS scores, and a remediation recommendation. It is written to be actionable by your development team directly, not a generic checklist.

  • Is the retest included?

Yes. Once you deploy fixes for findings from an engagement, we retest those specific issues at no extra cost and confirm they are closed before the engagement is marked complete.

  • How does AI change what attackers can find, and how fast?

LLM-driven recon and fuzzing tools let attackers probe a newly disclosed vulnerability class across many targets within hours of publication. We respond by testing on a shorter cycle and prioritising retests around fresh disclosures relevant to your stack, rather than waiting for a scheduled annual audit.
